Hello

Hello, and welcome. I’m Jaime Beechey, a Registered Social Worker (MSW) and the founder of Resilient Pathways Counselling & Mediation.

My story

With more than two decades of experience in the social services sector, my work has always been rooted in a simple belief — people are inherently resilient, especially when they are supported with compassion, honesty, and respect.

Before opening this practice, I held leadership roles within community and family service organizations across Eastern Ontario. Those years deepened my understanding of how complex life can be — how trauma, relationships, and stress intersect — and how meaningful change happens when people feel genuinely understood and empowered to take small, steady steps forward.

As the spouse of an active police officer, and having previous work experience as a dispatcher, a cadet, and a child welfare worker, I bring lived experience to my work with first responders and their families. I understand the long shifts, the emotional toll, and the unique challenges that come with balancing service work, relationships, and family life. That perspective shapes my approach — practical, grounded, and built on real empathy rather than theory alone.

At Resilient Pathways, I offer counselling, coaching, and mediation services that focus on holistic wellness — addressing mental, emotional, and relational wellbeing both at work and at home. My style is often described as calm, approachable, and collaborative. I believe therapy should feel like a safe conversation, not a clinical assessment, and that the best progress happens when clients feel heard and supported without judgment.

Beyond my professional role, I’m also a mom and proud grandmother. My husband and I share a blended family of two adult children, three teenagers, and one energetic grandchild — a mix that keeps life busy, loud, and full of perspective. When I’m not working, I love spending time along the St. Lawrence River, enjoying the peace and reflection that nature provides.

That balance of family, purpose, and community is at the heart of my work — helping others build resilience, restore balance, and find their own sense of calm amid life’s many moving parts.

This certification enhances my ability to recognize and respond to mental health crises, including situations involving trauma or suicide risk.  It supports my work with first responders and their families by ensuring that I can provide calm, informed and compassionate assistance when it matters most.

My training in CBT Essentials (Level 2) and Trauma-Focused CBT (Level 2) through the Association for Psychological Therapies has equipped me with the knowledge to provide meaningful and empathetic therapeutic support to first responders and their families. These courses have enhanced my understanding of trauma and its effects, allowing me to tailor my therapeutic interventions to meet the unique needs of my clients. By em
